Emergency dental services in San Antonio

Every service below is handled in our own office on Hardy Oak Blvd. You see one of our dentists, get X-rays, hear what's wrong in plain words, and read the price on paper before anything happens in the chair.

How it works

  1. Call or walk in. Phone (210) 807-8793 and tell us what's going on. Between 8am and 8pm, any day of the week, our front desk picks up. If you're already nearby, walk in. Call ahead and a room will be waiting when you walk through the door.
  2. We hold a same-day time. You get a time that day. Have a photo ID with you, the insurance card if you're on a PPO plan, and the names of the medicines you take. Parking is on site.
  3. Get treated. Our dentist checks the tooth, goes over your X-rays with you and explains the options. The cost of the treatment is written down for you. Once you agree, the work starts in the same visit whenever that's the right thing for the tooth.

$125 emergency exam and X-rays

The $125 pays for the exam and the diagnostic X-rays, which is everything our dentist needs to tell you what the problem is. Pain in one tooth sometimes comes from the tooth beside it. An X-ray settles that question before anyone picks up an instrument.

The $125 covers the emergency exam and diagnostic X-rays. Any treatment is a separate fee, quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

Treatment prices aren't posted on this site. A cracked molar with a healthy nerve and a cracked molar with an infected nerve call for different work, and only the X-ray can tell one from the other. Our cost and insurance page spells out how an exam becomes a diagnosis and then a written price.

Insurance and payment

Most major PPO plans are accepted, and so is cash. Hand your card to the front desk and we'll take the details from there. To pay, use cash or a major credit or debit card. Payment is due at the time of the visit, after you've read and agreed to the written price.

Open 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm

A toothache on a Sunday morning is a Sunday morning problem, and we're open for it. The office keeps the same hours every day of the week: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday. Evening appointments are real appointments with our dentists, not a phone line.

Once 8pm passes, a live answering service covers (210) 807-8793; the line is staffed 24/7. The person who answers notes your name, a callback number and the trouble, and the 8am opening is kept for you. Overnight advice, and the signs that mean a hospital emergency room should come first, are on our weekend and Sunday emergency dentist page.

Frequently asked questions

Are you open on Sunday?

Yes. We're open Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the same as every other day of the week. Phone (210) 807-8793 and the front desk will find you a time that day, or walk in. Saturday runs on the same schedule.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Walk-ins are welcome any day between 8am and 8pm. A quick call ahead helps us have a room ready and shortens your wait, but it isn't required. If you're in pain and the office is the closest place, come straight over.

What happens if I call after 8pm?

A live answering service picks up. Your name, phone number and a sentence about the problem go on their sheet, and the first 8am opening is yours. The office itself isn't open overnight. Swelling that's interfering with breathing or swallowing means the emergency room at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital or North Central Baptist Hospital comes first.

How much does the visit cost?

The emergency exam and diagnostic X-rays are $125. After our dentist has found the cause, the treatment itself gets its own price, in writing, before any work begins. Cash, major cards and most major PPO plans are accepted. If Spanish is easier for you or a family member, our front desk staff speak it during office hours.
