Weekend and Sunday Emergency Dentist in San Antonio - Open 7 Days, 8am to 8pm

Our Stone Oak office is open Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the same chairside hours we keep Monday through Friday. Call (210) 807-8793, tell us what's wrong, and a same-day time is yours; or walk in at 18911 Hardy Oak Blvd Ste 221, San Antonio, TX 78258. Our dentists are in the office on weekends, treating patients, not waiting by a pager.

The emergency exam and diagnostic X-rays are $125, and that fee is the same on a Sunday as it is on a Tuesday.

The $125 covers the emergency exam and diagnostic X-rays. Any treatment is a separate fee, quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

Sunday dentist in San Antonio: open 8am to 8pm

Our Sunday hours run from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and a dentist is here for all twelve of them. A molar that cracked on a rib bone at a Sunday cookout gets looked at on Sunday. A filling that fell out at breakfast gets handled before dinner. You don't have to spend the day counting the hours until Monday.

Sunlit dental office hallway on a weekend morning in San Antonio

Phone first if you can, so a room is waiting, or simply walk in. The visit begins the same way either way: a few questions about what happened, an exam, then X-rays, since most of what matters sits below the gum where nobody can see it. Then our dentist explains what they found and hands you a written price for any treatment. Most of the time, that treatment happens the same day, in the same chair.

We're on Hardy Oak Blvd in Stone Oak, about a mile north of Loop 1604 and a mile west of US 281, with parking on site.

Saturday dentist in San Antonio: the same full day

Saturday is a full day here too, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Saturdays tend to bring a certain kind of emergency: the tooth that got chipped at a morning soccer game, the wisdom tooth that started throbbing on Friday night and is worse by lunchtime, the crown that came off in a piece of brisket. Our dentists handle all of those in the office. Nothing waits for the work week.

If you work Monday through Friday and have been putting off a sore tooth because you couldn't get time off, Saturday or Sunday is a fair way to deal with it before it turns into a bigger problem. A sore tooth seen early is a smaller job than an infected one seen late.

Dentist open late in San Antonio: evenings until 8pm

Every day of the week, the office stays open until 8:00 PM. That matters most on weekdays. A tooth that starts hurting at 4:00 PM at work doesn't have to wait until tomorrow morning. Call us when you leave the parking lot, and in many cases we can see you that same evening.

The evening exam is the same exam you'd get at 9:00 AM: a dentist, X-rays, a written price, and treatment when it's needed. During office hours our staff speak Spanish as well as English, so the call and the visit can happen in whichever language you prefer.

After hours dentist San Antonio: what happens when you call after 8pm

Our chairside hours end at 8:00 PM, but the phone doesn't. Between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM, a live answering service picks up for us. A real person writes down who you are, where to call you back and what the trouble is, then reserves the 8:00 AM opening, the first one of the day, under your name. They are not dentists and won't give medical advice. What they will do is make sure you're on the schedule before anyone else calls in the morning.

Some problems shouldn't wait for 8:00 AM. Swelling that's crept up toward the cheekbone or spread down the neck, a fever riding along with the tooth pain, any difficulty getting air or swallowing, a jaw you suspect is broken: those belong in a hospital emergency room now. Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and North Central Baptist Hospital are both in Stone Oak. The hospital treats the spreading infection or the injury; once that's handled, call us and we take care of the tooth that started it.

What we treat on a Saturday or Sunday

Weekend visits cover the same services as weekday visits. All of it is done in our office:

What to do before you get here

A few things help between the moment something goes wrong and the moment you sit down in our chair.

A knocked-out adult tooth needs handling by the crown only, the white part, never the root. Skip the scrubbing. If it's dirty, a few seconds in milk or cool water is all the cleaning it should get. The ideal place for it is its own socket, turned the right way, held there by gently closing your teeth on a clean cloth. When that won't work, drop it in a small cup of milk and come straight over. On a hot San Antonio afternoon, keep that container out of the sun and out of the car's cup holder; the tooth needs to stay cool and moist.

With a broken tooth, a warm-water rinse comes first. Hunt for any fragment and keep it, and give the other side of your mouth the chewing for now. A small square of sugarless gum pressed over a sharp edge keeps it from cutting your tongue on the drive.

For a lost crown, bring the crown with you. Don't glue it back with anything from the hardware store.

For pain, an over-the-counter pain reliever taken exactly as the label says can take the edge off. Don't put aspirin on the gum itself. Keep heat away from a swollen cheek.

What a weekend visit costs

The $125 exam and X-ray fee is the same on weekends and evenings as it is on a weekday morning. Treatment is a separate fee, written down and handed over before any work begins, which means the number is in your hand before the decision is. Cash, cards and most major PPO plans are all accepted. The cost and insurance page lays out, step by step, how an exam turns into a written price.

Frequently asked questions

Are you really open on Sunday?

Yes. Our office is open Sunday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with a dentist in the office the whole time. Those are treatment hours, not phone-only hours. Call (210) 807-8793 and a Sunday time gets held for you, or just walk in. Sunday is a full working day for us, the same as Saturday and the same as every weekday.

Do I need an appointment on the weekend?

No. Walk-ins are welcome seven days a week. Calling ahead helps us have a room ready, and it lets us tell you anything useful before you leave the house, like bringing the crown that came off or keeping a knocked-out tooth in milk. If you can't call, come anyway. We'll see you.

Is the exam fee different on a weekend or in the evening?

No. The emergency exam and diagnostic X-rays are $125 on every day of the week and at every hour we're open. There's no weekend rate and no evening rate. Treatment is quoted separately and in writing, once the dentist has read the X-rays and explained what they show.

What if I call at 10pm on a Saturday?

A real person answers. The answering service jots down your name, a callback number and the gist of the problem, then reserves Sunday's 8:00 AM opening for you. They don't give dental advice. Spreading swelling, a fever, or any difficulty breathing or swallowing shouldn't sit until morning: a hospital emergency room comes first, and we come after.

Do you see children on weekends?

Yes. Our dentists see children and adults seven days a week. Kids tend to chip and knock out teeth on weekends, when they're outside playing, and a Saturday or Sunday visit means the tooth gets looked at while it still matters. Bring any piece of the tooth you can find, and call us on the way so we can be ready.
