How far is our office from Bulverde?
About eleven miles, nearly all of it on US 281. Bulverde is its own city in Comal County, zip code 78163, where the ranch landscape along 281 still looks like Hill Country. Our office is across the Bexar County line in Stone Oak, on Hardy Oak Blvd between Huebner Rd and Stone Oak Pkwy, about a mile north of Loop 1604 and a mile west of US 281.

Leaving from Bulverde City Hall, Bulverde Community Park or the GVTC Soccer Complex, you point the car south on 281 and stay on it. The highway carries you past the ranch land, past the Kinder Ranch Elementary and Pieper High School area, and into Stone Oak. Fifteen minutes on a quiet morning. Closer to twenty-two on a weekday evening when 281 fills up.
Same-day emergency dental care for Bulverde patients
We see Bulverde patients the day they call. A split molar from a Saturday game at the GVTC Soccer Complex, an abscess that swelled up overnight near Rahe Primary School, a wisdom tooth that turned from dull to sharp: each one gets a same-day appointment. Walk-ins are welcome as well. Phone from the truck as you leave Bulverde and the room is set up before you park.
The first step is always the exam and the diagnostic X-rays. Our dentists work out what's going on, explain it clearly and give you the treatment cost in writing first. If the diagnosis allows, the treatment is done at that same visit.
A few things help on the drive. A knocked-out tooth travels well in milk or saliva, held only by the crown and kept out of the heat; a Texas afternoon in a parked truck is hard on a tooth. For a broken tooth, bring the pieces if you have them.
A hospital emergency room comes before us when swelling has crossed up to the eye or is pushing down into the neck, when breathing or swallowing is a struggle, or when a fall or collision may have broken the jaw. The two nearest are Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and North Central Baptist Hospital, both in Stone Oak near our office.
Open Saturdays and Sundays for Bulverde
The office is open Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Not phone-only hours. Chairs, dentists and X-rays, the same as a weekday. A toothache that builds through a Sunday morning at Saint Paul Lutheran Church can be examined that afternoon. A tooth broken at a Saturday tournament gets looked at before the drive home.
Evenings are covered until 8:00 PM, every day. After 8:00 PM you still reach a human being on our line; they write down your name and number, and we keep the 8:00 AM opening for you. The weekend emergency dentist page has practical steps for the hours in between.
What an emergency dental visit costs for Bulverde patients
Everyone pays $125 for the emergency exam and diagnostic X-rays, on any day of the week. Treatment is a separate fee. You hear the diagnosis, see the options and get the price on paper before deciding.
We take cash and cards, and most major PPO plans are accepted. PPO members, have your card with you. The cost and insurance page explains the exam, the written quote and payment in full.

The same as every other day: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Our office at 18911 Hardy Oak Blvd Ste 221 in Stone Oak is 15 to 22 minutes south of Bulverde on US 281, and a Sunday visit starts the way a Tuesday visit does, with the $125 exam and X-rays and a written treatment price. Do you see patients from Comal County?
Yes. The county line makes no difference. Bulverde patients get the same same-day appointments, the same seven-day hours and the same walk-in welcome as anyone from Stone Oak. Bring the tooth or crown if one came out.
What if my tooth breaks after 8:00 PM in Bulverde?
Call anyway. The line is staffed overnight, the person who picks up notes your details, and you're first in at 8:00 AM. Save any pieces of the tooth, rinse your mouth with water and avoid chewing on that side. In the morning, take US 281 south to Stone Oak Pkwy and we'll see you first thing.
