The trip is mostly Loop 1604. From Shavano Park City Hall, the Shavano Park Tennis Club or the Basis San Antonio Shavano Campus, you head north on Northwest Military Hwy, which is FM 1535, until it meets 1604. East on 1604 for a few exits, off at Huebner Rd or Stone Oak Pkwy, and Hardy Oak Blvd is right there. Thirteen minutes when the loop is moving, closer to eighteen when it isn't.

Same-day emergency dental care for Shavano Park patients

The day you call is the day we see you. That holds for a cracked molar in Shavano Heights, a swollen gum in Oak Meadow or a wisdom tooth in Hunters Creek that finally turned sharp. Phone the front desk and we hold you a time today. Skip the call and walk in, and we'll still see you; phone first and the room is waiting by the time you pull off 1604.

Our dentists do the exam and the diagnostic X-rays first. Then they tell you what's wrong, in plain words, and put the treatment price in writing before picking up a single instrument. If the diagnosis allows it, treatment follows at the same visit.

A few symptoms belong at a hospital before a dental chair: a swollen face that's reaching the eye, swelling that's heading into the neck, breathing or swallowing that's become difficult, or a blow to the jaw. Both Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and North Central Baptist Hospital sit in Stone Oak, near our office. Come to us once the hospital has cleared you.

Open Saturdays and Sundays for Shavano Park

We keep weekend hours that match our weekday hours: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday, chairs staffed and dentists treating. A tooth that breaks during a Saturday match at the Shavano Park Tennis Club can be looked at that afternoon. A toothache that builds through a Sunday service at Woodland Baptist Church or St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church doesn't have to last until Monday morning.

We treat patients until 8:00 PM, seven nights a week, late enough for after-work and after-school visits. Past 8:00 PM, the phone goes to a live person who takes down your symptoms, and you're booked into the 8:00 AM opening. For the overnight hours, our weekend and after-hours page walks through what to do until 8:00 AM.

What an emergency dental visit costs for Shavano Park patients

The number to remember is $125. That buys the emergency exam plus diagnostic X-rays, any day of the week. Treatment is priced separately, and you get that price on paper before you say yes to anything. Take it home to Shavano Park if you want time to decide.

Cash or card, your choice, and most major PPO plans are accepted; bring the card. Exam, written quote, payment: the cost and insurance page covers that sequence in full.
